1965 Moved to Daiichi Pharma as Director of Research Planning where he rose to Vice-President in 1995

In 1989, he began his medicinal chemistry activities with IUPAC, and in 1992 he organized the Asian Federation of Medicinal Chemistry. This was done by developing nine national societies in medicinal chemistry in Australia, China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan. He became the first President of AFMC, 1992-1995.

In 1995 the first AFMC International Medicinal Chemistry Symposium (AIMECS) was held in Tokyo, and is held every two years in one of the countries of the member societies.
