Looking Ahead to 2026: A New Chapter for IUPAC Leadership

As IUPAC prepares to enter 2026, the Union welcomes a dynamic group of scientists and leaders who will guide its Divisions and Committees into the next phase of global collaboration and innovation in chemistry. Building on a legacy of excellence, these newly appointed officers—spanning continents and disciplines—reflect IUPAC’s continued commitment to advancing chemical sciences, fostering education, and addressing the challenges of a sustainable future. Their collective expertise and vision promise to strengthen the Union’s role as the world authority on chemical nomenclature, standards, and the promotion of chemistry for the benefit of humankind.

These leaders will work alongside the Union Officers, as well as members of the Executive and Scientific Boards elected by Council last July, ensuring strong continuity and shared purpose across IUPAC’s governance and scientific initiatives.<https://iupac.org/actions-taken-by-iupac-council-kuala-lumpur-malaysia-july-2025/>
