IUPAC|CHAINS 2023 – early bird until 1 June

Take a look at the program of IUPAC|CHAINS 2023 – early bird until 1 June!

The preliminary program of IUPAC|CHAINS 2023 can now be found online at www.iupac2023.org! The conference, which combines the 49th IUPAC World Chemistry Congress and the 11th edition of the Dutch Chemistry Conference CHAINS, will take place from 20 till 25 August in The Hague, the Netherlands.

The Congress Organizers want to thank you all for the abstracts submission, and hope that they have succeeded in putting together a diverse and interesting program for everyone to enjoy. So if you are curious about which subjects will be discussed in your field, or what choices you are going to have to make, go to the website now and take a look!

Last plenary speaker announced
With the publication of the program, the last plenary speaker to enlighten us with his remarkable work has been announced. On Thursday 24 August, the Congress will welcome Timothy Caulfield, Canada Research Chair in Health Law & Policy at the University of Alberta. Caulfield is an interdisciplinary researcher who focusses on topics like stem cells, genetics and research ethics. He is also known for engaging in science communication, and he wrote several popular science books and co-produced the Netflix-series ‘A User’s Guide to Cheating Death’. During his presentation at IUPAC|CHAINS 2023, he will guide us through the relationship between Science and the Misinformation Crisis. He will look at what science says about where misinformation is coming from, and what individuals and organizations can do to fight back.
