Each year IUPAC endorses a large number of independently organized conferences, symposiums and workshops that cover a wide range of specialized topics in chemistry. The closing ceremony of the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development will be held at the new Science Gateway building at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland, and online.

After almost two years of celebration of the importance of basic sciences for sustainable development, we will propose an overview of what happened, and we will discuss how we will continue our action, especially in the perspective of the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development 2024-2033.

The whole morning session will be dedicated to early career scientists, in collaboration with the Global Young Academy and many other early career scientists organizations.
