Page 2. Navigate to the GA: Once you are in, on the left-hand menu, select “Program” to expand the menu and select “General Assembly”.

Page 4. Join the virtual meeting with the orange button. The “Join” button will light up 15 minutes before the start of the session.
The IUPAC General Assembly (GA) is the occasion for meetings of the statutory bodies of the Union, specifically of the Council, Bureau, Division Committees, and Standing Committees. The 51st IUPAC General Assembly will be virtually 9-15 August 2021, while in addition, Council will include an opening session on August 5.
Format for the virtual GA
To avoid all conflicts with the Congress and allow observers to attend as many meetings as they want, meetings of the GA are scheduled a week prior the Congress. Only one meeting at the time is scheduled with no parallel sessions. Each Division/Committee have a 2-hour meeting scheduled as part of the GA. Observers can be member of other committees, delegates from NAOs, or Young observers. Except for the Council, all meetings of the GA will be hosted on the Congress platform.

Shared program with the Congress
While the Congress is only accessible to congress registered attendees, a few segments in the program are made freely accessible to GA attendees. These include:
– the Opening Plenary Lecture, Sunday Aug 15 at 18:00 EDT
– the Opening Reception, Social and Networking, Sunday Aug 15 at 19:30 EDT
– the WCLM, Tuesday Aug 17 at 8:00 EDT and Wednesday Aug 18 at 9:00 EDT (see WCLM details)
– the Closing Ceremony, Friday Aug 20 at 13:300 EDT
