The IUPAC General Assembly (GA) is the occasion for meetings of the statutory bodies of the Union, specifically of the Council, Bureau, Division Committees, and Standing Committees. The 49th IUPAC General Assembly will take place 7-14 July 2017, in São Paulo, Brazil, running concurrently with the 46th IUPAC World Chemistry Congress.
The GA and the Congress will share the venue and several events, including a joint opening and reception. Detailed information about the Congress is available at www.iupac2017.org, including program, call for abstract, congress registration, travel information, and accommodations.
We would like to encourage you to take advantage of your participation in the GA by also attending the Congress. The Organizing Committee has prepared an exciting program with the theme Sustainability & Diversity through Chemistry. GA participants (i.e. IUPAC Members and Delegates) can register to the Congress at a special discounted rate. Registration is readily available at www.iupac2017.org.
This year again, Young Observers will be invited to take part in the activities coordinated around the World Chemistry Leadership Meeting (WCLM) and planned under project 2016-032-2-020. The Congress opening will include the presentation of the IUPAC-Solvay International Awards for Young Chemists and the Awards for Distinguished Women in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
