The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry is the global organization that provides objective scientific expertise and develops the essential tools for the application and communication of chemical knowledge for the benefit of humankind and the world. In 2019 IUPAC entered its second century, providing an opportunity to launch initiatives to create a more diverse and inclusive community. A webinar titled ‘Moving Ahead on Gender Equity — A Chemistry Perspective‘ provides an overview, some insights and progress on this journey. The webinar was sponsored by the Standing Committee on Gender Equality in Science (gender-equality-in-science.org) and recorded on October 26, 2022.
