Message from the President – Lidia Armelao

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your valuable participation in the 53rd General Assembly of IUPAC held in Kuala Lumpur in July 2025. Your presence has made this meeting a particularly significant moment for the work of our Division and for IUPAC as a whole. During our working sessions, we had the opportunity to address key topics in the advancement of inorganic chemistry, to assess the progress of ongoing projects, and to outline new initiatives aimed at supporting IUPAC mission in the coming years. My sincere appreciation is extended to the Commission on Isotopic Abundance and Atomic Weights and to the Chair, Johanna Irrgeher, for the commitment and the crucial contribution to IUPAC, and to those members who represent our Division in other IUPAC bodies since their dedicated service is essential to strengthen the ties within the Union. I wish also to extend special thanks to the Young Observers, whose participation enriched our activities with fresh perspectives, emerging expertise, and enthusiasm—essential elements in ensuring the renewal and continuity of the Inorganic Chemistry Division.

I would also like to express my sincere thanks to the incoming Division President, Robin Macaluso, for her willingness to assume this leadership role; to the Secretary, Jorge Colón, for his commitment and continuous organizational support; and to the Division Project Coordinator, Dan Rabinovich, for his supervision and contribution to the success of our initiatives. Finally, I extend my sincere gratitude to all members of the Division for your ongoing commitment and collaborative spirit. I am confident that, together, we will continue to promote scientific excellence and to advance the role of chemistry in the progress of society.
