Summary

The Global Women’s Breakfast 2026 will celebrate the many voices within the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB) and the Chemistry Department, while continuing solution-focused conversations about challenges faced by women in the chemical sciences. The event will take place at 10:30 am on Tuesday 10th February 2026 in the MIB Atrium and will be a registered event to ensure catering and venue capacity. It is open to all members of the research and teaching community, regardless of gender or career stage. The event will include breakfast refreshments, an opening introduction from a staff member, and a short update from a member of the MIB EDI committee. Attendees will be invited to take part in optional structured networking through four themed flip-chart stations focused on identity, scientific curiosity, supporting women in science, and hopes for the future. A QR-code Padlet will also allow anonymous contributions.
