Dr. Lindsay Cahill: Inclusion of sex and gender in research study designs
While recent efforts have improved the inclusion of sex and gender in research study designs, female-specific experiences such as pregnancy remain understudied. This presentation will reflect on progress in women's health research and the reality of persistent inequities and challenges faced by scientists studying women's health.
Dr. Jane Stockmann: The evolving landscape of transgenderism in academia in Canada, a personal perspective
The transgender community has been the focus of recent political vilification and scapegoating. These political attacks likely contributed to the election of the latest US president. In this talk, I’ll give my personal perspective as a trans-person through the lens of an academic working in STEM.
