Summary
We'll start with a short slideshow acknowledging IUPAC and ACS followed by a brief film of women scientists around the world welcoming attendees to the GWB. Alaska's own preeminent biochemist, Professor Kelly Drew, will discuss her work with Arctic ground squirrels and how that work evolved into her involvement with a start-up company focused on creating therapeutics to modulate metabolism and body temperature. Finally attendees will be invited to talk about what they’re doing professionally and offer comments on the subjects of increasing the number of female professionals and gender equity in STEM fields.
