Each year IUPAC endorses a large number of independently organized conferences, symposiums and workshops that cover a wide range of specialized topics in chemistry. A first IUPAC workshop on PFAS Terminology is being organized hybrid online/onsite on Thursday December 5, 2024 at Politecnico di Milano [see flyer PDF]

The workshop is the first of a series of activities that will be carried out as part of IUPAC project 2024-006-3-100 “Terminology and Classification of Per- and Poly-Fluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS)”. The objective of the project is to develop a rigorous definition of PFAS, and standardize terminology and classification starting from their chemical structures and chemical-physical properties.
