The ISNA series was established in 1970 as the International Symposium on Nonbenzenoid Aromatic Compounds. The aim of the Symposium was gradually changed as the new chemistry of aromatic compounds evolved in many fields of science and technology. Now the goal of the symposium is to further elucidate fundamental principle of synthesis and properties of novel aromatic and other interesting pi-conjugated systems, to discuss recent experimental and theoretical insights into the concept of aromaticity, and to explore modern applications of such systems as advanced materials, as tailor-made functional molecules in supramolecular chemistry, optoelectronics, and biology.
The 2019 event will take place in Sapporo City, Hokkaido Prefecture, JAPAN, in July 2019
