Each year IUPAC endorses a large number of independently organized conferences, symposiums and workshops that cover a wide range of specialized topics in chemistry. Endorsement by IUPAC attests to the quality of the scientific program and indicates the host country’s assurance that scientists from all countries may participate. See program details.

15th IUPAC International Congress of Crop Protection Chemistry

  • This event has passed.

Postponed from 10-13 Jan 2023 to 14-17 March 2023

Futuristic Approaches towards Seed to Market Strategies

Since the first Congress held at Vienna in 1967, crop protection experts have been sharing their views and solutions on emerging issues in agriculture of global significance. However, the lack of understanding among various communities about crop protection chemicals still persists, with many export commodities being rejected by different countries. There is a need to tackle this issue both at a National and International level, bringing together various stakeholders on one platform. The 2023 Congress will be focused on following themes:
a) Development of natural and synthetic agrochemicals
b) Develop innovative pesticide formulations.
c) Emerging issues and stewardship
d) Precise analytical techniques for environmental fate and metabolism
e) Environmental fate and metabolism
f) Soil Biome, metablomics
g) Creation of awareness programme on judicious use of plant protection chemicals

The 15th IUPAC International Congress of Crop Protection Chemistry will be hosted by the Society for the Promotion of Sustainable Agriculture (SPSA), in association with ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi and Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology (IPFT), Gurugram, and take place at National Agricultural Science Centre Complex (NASC Complex) in New Delhi, India.

The conclusion of IUPAC project 2014-032-1-600 – Advances on the Assessment of Pesticides Soil Microbial toxicity: New research and regulatory aspects in light of the recent methodological advances– was presented as an invited presentation of 25 minutes in the morning session of the IUPAC Conference in New Dehli on Tuesday 14 March 2023, as part of the Theme 5: Ecological and Human Safety Assessment of Products: Chemical, Biological and Biotechnology. The outcome of the project is expected to pave the way along with current research activities of research groups in Europe for the revision of the regulatory framework regarding the assessment of the toxicity of pesticides on soil microorganisms.
