Each year IUPAC endorses a large number of independently organized conferences, symposiums and workshops that cover a wide range of specialized topics in chemistry. Endorsement by IUPAC attests to the quality of the scientific program and indicates the host country’s assurance that scientists from all countries may participate. See program details.

14th UNESCO/IUPAC Workshop and Conference on Macromolecules & Materials

  • This event has passed.

This conference is a continuation of a very successful series held over the last ten years mainly in South Africa. It is a unique opportunity for (mainly) Southern African researchers and students to engage with world leaders in the field on their research in polymer science. Over the years the conferences had specific themes ranging from polyolefins over composites to materials with biological and medical applications. In 2017, the focus of the conference will be on advances in polymer synthesis and characterization, specifically in the field of bioactive materials.
