IUPAC announces the departure of its Executive Director, Dr. Greta Heydenrych after a two-year tenure with the Union, Dr. Heydenrych has made a substantial impact and will be missed by the numerous volunteers she has supported.
Dr. Fabienne Meyers, our long-serving Associate Director, will assume the role of interim Executive Director. With over twenty years of dedicated service to IUPAC, we are fortunate to have her step into this pivotal leadership position.
Dr. Heydenrych has significantly advanced IUPAC’s initiatives in digital standards development, strengthened existing relationships, and established new connections both within and beyond the Union. At the Secretariat, she has modernized several workflows and streamlined numerous internal systems, thereby enhancing operational efficiency. Enid, Fabienne, and Tammy collectively acknowledge that, “Greta introduced us to ‘Teams’ as a software tool and unified us as a team with shared objectives.”
IUPAC extends its best wishes to Dr. Heydenrych in her future endeavors and expresses its gratitude to Dr. Fabienne Meyers for assuming these new responsibilities.
