Periodic Table of Younger Chemists

Nominees must be 40 years of age or younger and meet the following criteria:

One of the following:

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in chemistry or a related field
• Holds an undergraduate or graduate degree in chemistry or in a related field
• Currently working in the field of chemistry or a related field

AND

Actively working in one or more of the following areas:

• Scientific topics relevant to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (link)
• Increasing the public appreciation and understanding of chemistry
• Fostering diversity in the chemical enterprise
• Improving chemistry and science education for students
• Advancing interdisciplinary and international collaboration in chemistry research

All nominations are to be submitted via the on-line form. Nominators may be organizations or individuals. Self-nominations are accepted. Nominees not selected during a particular round will be carried over to the next group of elements. For more information, please email Christine Dunne at [email protected].

Elements will be revealed throughout the period from July 2018 to July 2019 with 8 to 10 elements revealed per month. The deadline nominations for elements being revealed in July 2018 is May 1, 2018. Nominations for later elements may be submitted any time prior to the deadline. Early submission is encouraged. See the table below for subsequent deadlines.
