Xuefeng Jiang is a professor at East China Normal University in Shanghai. He received his B.S. degree from Northwest University (China) in 2003, he pursued his Ph.D. studies with Professor Shengming Ma at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC), Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2008 to 2011, he was a postdoctoral researcher with Professor K. C. Nicolaou at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) in the field of natural product total synthesis. His research interests focus on sulfur chemistry.

Professor Jiang has been focusing on organosulfur chemistry with “3S” (Smelless, Stable and Sustainable) concept. He has developed a set of new green sulfurating reagents and corresponding methodologies to achieve the transformation of sulfur atom from inorganic sulfur salts to organic sulfur-containing functional molecules under environmentally friendly conditions for pharmaceuticals, materials and life related molecules. Through these strategies, the rules of C-S, C=S, S-S, S-N, S=O, and O=S=O bonds was comprehensively established.

Professor Jiang is bound up to popularization of science through TV, radio and internet. He created new concepts for the transformation of technical invention in Shanghai. Collaborations with different company, both sulfurating reagents and synthetic routes are utilizing for drug discovery and process. He is a member of Chemical Education Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society, where he put great effort to chemical education. He also put great effort on IUPAC activities.
