Raymond Borg completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Southern Maine in Biochemistry in 2014 and his Master’s in Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts- Boston in 2016. Raymond is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the University of California Santa Barbara co-advised by Irene Chen and Arnab Mukherjee. His research is focused on bioengineering, phage therapeutics, and virus-enabled diagnostics. He has a very diverse research background spanning environmental chemistry, biofuels, biomedical imaging, and food chemistry. He is motivated by the scientific advancement that could result from connecting his areas of expertise. Moreover, he is interested in discovering applications of this work that will provide good health, clean food/water, and environmental sustainability for future generations.
