Nam Joong Jeon completed his Ph.D. in organic chemistry at Chonnam National University, Korea. He is currently a senior researcher at the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) in Daejeon, Korea. While Dr. Jeon has been focusing on the development of highly efficient and stable perovskite solar cells, he presented a process using solvent engineering to make dense and uniform MAPbI3 perovskite structures for the first time, which was published in Nature Materials in June 2014. In January 2015, Dr. Jeon proposed and implemented a perovskite composition control method, and reported that it is possible to produce perovskite solar cells in a very stable form. Using these two leading methods, he has achieved world record efficiencies on NREL’s Best Research-Cell Efficiencies Chart for five times, which is the first time to be accomplished in Korea. Currently, as a leading researcher in the field of perovskite solar cells, his publications have been cited over 6,000 times since 2014.
