Number: 240/13/98
Start: 01 January 1998
End: 31 December 2000

Objective

In this program, the Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM), which coordinates IMEP, is focusing on the determination of trace elements (Cd, Cr, Hg, Pb, As, Cl, Br, S) in polyethylene. The material itself consists of a polyethylene matrix doped with the following metals: Cd, Cr, Hg, and Pb. The concentrations are between 1 and 100 mg.kg-1. The material, in the form of small pellets (diameter approx. 5mm), will be dispatched in sealed glass amber bottles containing 50g sample.
